MatterRay Nexus

Designed to be simple and intuitive without limiting you to rigid results. Nexus has been built from the ground up to be fast and flexible with a GPU processing pipeline, without limitation of GPU brand.

Simple Setup

Connect your scanner, orientate the cameras, set exposure and you are ready to go.

Quick Calibration

Fast capture of the custom calibration board makes for speedy calibration that can be completed within a mere 2 minutes before scanning for the highest possible accuracy.

Easy Scanning

The scan window allows you to view the final point cloud as you scan. Completed scans can be added to the project allowing you to capture more orientations or add data as required.

Simple Post Processing

The small but powerful set of point cloud editing tools gives you all you need to clean, align and merge scans before exporting for meshing.

Computer Processor

System Requirements

A low to mid spec gaming PC with dedicated GPU (Not integrated graphics) is required. Nexus works with both Nvidia or AMD GPUs.

Minimum requirements:

  • Windows 10 or 11

  • 8Gb Ram

  • 4 Core CPU

  • Dedicated GPU with 2Gb Vram

Recommended requirements:

  • Windows 10 or 11

  • 16Gb Ram

  • 8 Core CPU

  • GTX 1080TI or above, 8Gb Vram

Where to prioritize upgrades:

Speed:

The faster the GPU the faster scanning or processing will run.  Use the "GPU Compute" spec on www.videocardbenchmark.net for an indication of scanning speed. Current scanning speed is ~8fps with a 1080 Ti and ~4fps with a RX 570

Memory:

Nexus holds all scan data on the GPU. If the Vram fills up it will then be offloaded to Ram. M1 doesn't gather a large number of points so VRam is less of a priority but S1 gathers lots of data so can fill memory quickly.
